As part of a long trip I spent five days on the Island of Mull. It’s great fun crossing on a ferry, with the freedom of a car to explore. The highest hill on Mull is Ben More, which is notorious for bad weather. It’s out in the Atlantic, like the Hebrides, taking the force of that sea weather. Ben More was the highlight of my visit so I waited for good weather but eventually had to compromise. It was fine and sunny below, cloudy at height; but perhaps it would clear. It didn’t, and the summit was the thickest white out I’ve ever experienced. Back down from the summit I took a short cut and you see me negotiating this, which was slightly risky, in this film. The photograph is the view I had every morning where I was camping. Very often with this sea fog, the name for which is haar.
